Blue Monday: Some food shouldn't be blue!

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. First we eat with our eyes. With those two sayings in mind, I am going to show you images I found on the internet of blue food.

There are some that would cause me to raise my eyebrows, but I would give them a try:

I wonder what blue steak would look like? Would it be served with blue cauliflower?

Some foods just don't look palatable to me in my otherwise favorite color:
Blue mashed potatoes are one example. Blue egg and blue bacon is another.

Is it the shade of blue that makes a difference? Is one blue more or less palatable in these strawberries?

Some blues aren't expected, but wouldn't cause me to hesitate:

And some blues have been tried, enjoyed and would be welcome again any old time!

What foods would you shun if served in blue? Which would you eat without hesitation?

Tomorrow I will resume talking about craft tools. I will eventually run out of them and move onto other things! Photobucket

This was so cute! I don't think I would like a blue banana, or a blue hamburger.
I loved your post.

Good Evening, Knitty! I have to agree with you on the blue foods I like and those I don't. But my favorite blue food of all is blueberries! I east them frequently and love them lots. Blue strawberries just aren't as appetizing as red ones, but blue ice cream and cookies... YUM! This was a fun post. :-)

Happy Blue Monday...

Sheila

How Funny! I did attend a rose seminar this summer and they told us that blue roses would actually be available to the general public for the first time in about 2 years.

Yes...blue is quite a strange colouring in food. M&M's, icecream or cake icing isn't too bad I wold eat them without too much hesitation...but blue mashed potatoes would be shocking to be served up to eat.

Wow, some foods just are not meant to be blue! Hands down, my favorite blue food is blueberries. I love them and probably eat some almost every day - fresh, frozen or dried.

Fun post! Thank you for sharing!

Hello Knitty,

Thank you for visiting my blog! In response to your question, I created my mosaic using http://bighugelabs.com/. I used to it the hard way by pasting my pictures into tables or using the paint program, but then I discovered Big Huge Labs and have been playing around with that. Sure makes it a heck of a lot easier!

How funny! I think I'd pass on the blue bread and the bananas...it looks like the bananas were being scanned under a light looking for bacteria!

Enjoy your Monday.
