Blue Monday: A Borrowed Garden

The only way my thumb would be green is if I painted it green. Not having the desire to garden doesn't mean I don't appreciate gardens though. My cottage neighbor, Rita, can grow anything. Her home and garage are blue, the backdrop for this first picture and my tie in to Blue Monday.
Photobucket
Beyond the chiminea seating area is a pond where large goldfish and some turtles live. The large turtle was run over by a car and has lost use of his rear legs. Rita rescued him and he happily lives with the fish. Last year a little turtle joined the group. He is semi-hidden among the water irises in the photo. Both turtles are snapping turtles.

Rita has many beautiful plants, but blues just aren't that prevalent in flowers. Forget me nots are truly blue, but the irises and pansies are purple. But we all know, you need to blue to make purple, right?

You have a lovely area out around your pond. I would really enjoy relaxing there. I don't know about the snapping turtles. They look nice from afar.

Could it be you don't have time to tend to a garden with all your other stuff? Your friend's garden is lovely and very inviting.
